Extended

The schools are now closed through April. My guess is that the lockdown will be that long as well. Cases of coronavirus are doubling daily.  More than 7000 cases and 50 deaths in Ohio.  We're about 13th in the country.

Not everyone seems concerned about isolation.  Although I can still work, Heather has been unemployed for two weeks now.  Another month will be devastating for many.

Band rehearsal is postponed.  Bars and restaurants closed except for take out.  Gathering of 10 or more banned. I must carry a letter of essential employee in my car. It's like a police state.

Could go into June.
CDC says there could be a relapse in the fall.
This could be the year of the great equalizer... killing millions and crippling the world economy.

It might be longer...

Today is 3/25/20.
After 3 days work this week, plus all the stress on Heather & Sallie,  I'm due for a couple days off.

Nothing has really changed with the stay at home order. Although Heather's welfare and food stamps kicked in  and she was approved for unemployment.

No fed tax refund yet for me, and it looks like a tax relief check will be coming from the government.

This virus could be shutting things down until June 1. Meanwhile,  starting in April,  we go back to normal Sunday hours, so that's $200 more per month.

I think we'll be ok, as long as I stay healthy.  Time will tell as the clock grinds slowly

Into the void...

Quarantine 2020.

Coronavirus,  almost unheard of prior to March first, has hit with a vengeance.  Over 10,000 cases in NY, WA and alone.  Unemployment 20%, Heather lost her job. Filed for unemployment and welfare.  I'm still working but am tired and stressed.

Hearing for Sallie is on Tuesday.

More to come

First week of confinement

It's just a week since we've had free movement.  I'm already antsy.

On one hand, I'm willing to forego freedom of choice because of the virus.  On the other hand,  I'm so ready for this to be over.

Non stop tv updates on cases and deaths. Dealing with shortages of toilet paper,  sanitizer and such. Isolation.

Plus, the pending court date on Tuesday.  Sallies been here since Wednesday and will remain so until Tuesday morning.  That's the day of the emergency hearing.

Should be interesting...

Coronavirus Mayhem

Saturday, March 14, 2020. The last gig I went to. Our band gig was cancelled due to cautions of this worldwide virus. Sunday, restaurants and bars were closed.  School was halted for 3 weeks, maybe more.

Heather lost her job on st Pat's.  Filed for unemployment today. Governor Dewine has been on TV every day with updates, more closures and increased precautions and diagnosis of patient infections.

This is only going to get worse, per their projections of between 40 and 70% infections. Italy is in bad shape.  China, where it started has lost thousands and is now recovering.  All of this since first diagnosed 12/31/19.

This is crazy. I'm trying to keep working. Heather's reigniting her cleaning business while filed for Sallies custody.  It'll get nasty before it gets better, but here we go!

Memory Lane

On my way home from band practice tonight,  I had a message from Mike asking if I still had any pics of him from the old website.  After a snack, I fired up the back up drives and started searching.

What a trip down memory lane! Photos of his childhood,  all his school pictures,  baseball, pool, Hinckley,  even Endor and the Porsche.  Basically,  everything I had from the time he could sit up until graduation.

I also perused some photos from my past including MB, Cheryl,  Diana,  Kim, lesser known Terri, Geri, Helen, others from the Globe...

Camping trips, projects,  vacation pix, and other photos from a much more care free time. The crazy thing is that it all started around 22 years ago.  No pics of Michelle though, and that's what started the downward trend.

I hope Mike enjoys his pics.

The next day

Last night, 2/29/20, my gig drought ended.
Circling Buzzards played 13 songs, with only one clusterfuck. 3 songs in, I couldn't hear Mike's count or Guy's vocal or bass
Rick couldn't hear his own guitar and noone could hear Mike's mic. But we played on through.

This is the first public performance since 1982. Never again will I permit any naysayers to govern me. I made it back! That's one huge checkmark off my bucket list.
